With March data live, we compiled the list of ten fastest growing sites last month. In March, financial services sites fell out of the fastest growing list in favor of some seasonal television trends.
Sunday Series: Top Movie Sites in Oscar Season
In the wake of the Academy Awards at the end of February, I thought movie sites would have an interesting top movers list. I was surprised that the category as a whole had 9% less Unique Visitors than January–though still a sizable amount of traffic with nearly 59 million UVs. Neither Oscars or Academy Awards appeared on the top 100 list of keyword referrals.

This week at Compete, we compiled the list of fastest growing online travel agencies in January. Americans were busy booking trips in the New Year: the category had over 54 million Unique Visitors, up 26.7% from December. Some of the niche agencies included on the list offer travel to the Dominican Republic, Europe, California, and the Caribbean. Let’s dig a little deeper into the largest sample site on the list.

The category had over 3.3 million Unique Visitors, though down 20% from December. The snow sport seems to be increasing in popularity–traffic to the sites increased 7.39% over the past year. Northeastern mountains got the most attention, with skinh.com claiming the top spot.

We took a look at the sites that grew the most from June to July to get a better idea of where online traffic is flowing.
