Sunday Series: Food and Grocery Fast Movers

This week, we compiled ten of the fastest growing food and grocery sites. Mother’s Day drove significantly more traffic than usual to shop for food online in May: the category of sites had 27.5% more Unique Visitors (UVs) than in April. Americans bought their moms chocolate covered strawberries, fruit baskets, and even meat! Berries.com (also the month’s fast mover), ediblearrangements.com, and omahasteaks.com were the highest traffic sites among the grocery fast movers.

Mother’s Day made a significant impact on the fast moving sites list this month with Berries.com, ProFlowers.com, 1800flowers.com, and FTD.com all making the top ten. Powerball.com also joined the fast movers this month due to another record-setting jackpot last month. Likely driven by the NHL playoffs in the U.S., NBCSports.com claimed spot #8 on the list, with monthly page views growing nearly 17% month-over-month as well.

April’s Top 50 Sites: Yahoo! Steals 2nd Place from Facebook

Yahoo.com replaced Facebook.com as the second most visited website in April, according to Compete’s latest U.S. traffic data. It was a close race, but Yahoo grew less than 1% month-over-month (MOM) to 164.6 million Unique Visitors (UVs) while Facebook’s monthly UVs dropped nearly half a percent to 164.1 million. Google remained king with 171.9 million UVs, a decrease of half a percent MOM.
