Sunday Series: Growing Appetite for Food Sites and a Thirst for Jack Daniel’s

With Easter falling earlier than usual, we compiled the list of fastest growing food sites in March. The holiday staple,, earned the top spot. The same brand made two more appearances on the list with its other domains: and–highlighting how URLs are a valuable asset for search engine marketing and optimization. Overall, the category of 269 food and drink sites had 26 million Unique Visitors (UVs) and traffic increased 10% month-over-month. The group of sites continued to grow after experiencing a steep drop at the beginning of the new year.

Number 6 on the list,, grew an impressive 330% in March, led by a huge increase in traffic coming from YouTube. The popular whiskey brand launched a new ad campaign “Legends,” with the help of our fellow Boston company, Arnold Worldwide. The campaign showcases Jack Daniel’s special relationship with rock and roll through video memorabilia. YouTube was the top referring site to in March, surpassing Google, Bing and Facebook. The digital campaign is a great example of how video really drives engagement.
