This week, marketers rejoiced after Pinterest launched web analytics–helping brands track popular content. Digiday asked marketing executives what data they wanted from the site. Two responses were mobile integrations and promoted pins. Pinterest’s first step towards monetization? They haven’t yet opened an API allowing developers to create applications on top of the service.

An interesting story from Bloomberg reports that Twitter is planning a joint venture with Apple, allowing users to play and share music through Apple devices. Paired with Twitter’s video app, Vine, record companies could have a viral new way to promote music on the word-of-mouth network.

Our parent company, Kantar Media, released their March Madness Advertising Trends Report. During the tournament topped $1 Bill. for the first time ever in 2012. The basketball tournament runs for 21 days and presents an opportunity for marketers to engage viewers over an extended period.
