Friends and family gather around the table each November to count their blessings. Thanksgiving inspires people to give back what they can, and the internet makes it easier to contribute to the cause closest to a person’s heart–regardless of their location. It can be difficult for a person to choose who will receive their money, with so many organizations soliciting donations at this time of year.
Americans gave their money to a variety of organizations during the recent season of giving. Still dealing with the aftermath of the Hurricane Sandy, the Red Cross jumped to the number one spot as donations poured in from across the country to help clean up. “No Shave November” continues to grow as thousands visited Movember.com to support prostate cancer research. As the Christmas season approached, Toys for Tots also saw an influx of visitors.
