Over the past month there has been over a 50% increase in visitation to e-card sites as a whole. My guess is that as the holidays descend–and as the festive panic sets in–more and more people are turning to simple and alternative options to spread cheer. What struck me about the top ten fastest growing e-card sites was the variability. Smaller sites saw larger gains than more popular sites in more than a few cases.
One thing I noticed was that this time last year this category was seeing nearly 1.5 million more Unique Visitors in total. We’ll see if lesser traffic is the fate of the category after December’s numbers have been processed, but what does this slight dip say about the exchange of e-cards this holiday season?
