Color blocking. Bright colors. Bold prints. The weather is heating up here in Boston and it has got me thinking that it is time to put away my winter clothing and has me itching to buy some new things for Spring. But what should I look for? I decided to check the Compete.com data to see which sites people are turning to learn about the new trends for Spring 2012.
Glamour.com dominated the list, receiving almost 27.38% of all search volume. What is also interesting, is that Facebook is 6th on the list, with 3.06% volume. Perhaps people are turning to the social network to see what types of things their friends are wearing this spring.
Next, I checked the Unique Visitors to the top 5 sites to see if there are any seasonal spikes in traffic. I was surprised to find that UVs to these sites remained fairly steady over the past 2 years, with the exception of Elle in September of 2010 when Julia Roberts appeared on their cover.
