BOSTON, MA–(Marketwire – Aug 29, 2011) – Kantar Media Compete today released its ranking of the top 250 websites for July 2011. Among notable changes in July were drops in unique visitors to daily deal sites and soaring number of unique visitors hitting social networking sites.
Drops in Daily Deal Unique Visitors
Daily deal darling Groupon.com experienced an 8.9 percent drop in the month of July to 30.6 million unique visitors (UVs), its first traffic decrease in 2011. Traffic also fell for Livingsocial.com, down 28 percent to 10.6M UVs. Despite these monthly setbacks, year-over-year (Y-O-Y) growth for these two sites was impressive. Groupon jumped 373 percent, while Livingsocial climbed 149 percent.
