Spring is in the Air: March Madness Trends are Telling

March. One of my favorite times of the year!!! New England is beginning to thaw and I like that. St. Patrick’s Day in Boston is a roaring good time and I like that too. However, March Madness takes the cake and I’m giddy just thinking about it. I can hear the words from the song that has become synonymous with the culmination of the NCAA Tournament; One Shining Moment. “The ball is tipped, and there you are. You’re running for your life, you’re a shooting star!!!” Go ahead, chuckle at my cheesiness, but I know I’m not alone in my excitement…

Dreams of upsets and last second 3’s; the march to final four and another NCAA Champion! I’m one excited fan. Reflecting on last year’s tournament brings mixed emotions. My alma mater, West Virginia University, made a deep run! I watched them from the Dome in Syracuse as they beat Washington and knocked off tourney favorite Kentucky. It was unreal!!! They made the final four, ultimately falling to Duke. WVU’s star player, Da’Sean Butler tore his knee apart in that game. Many of you may remember, Coach Bob Huggins trying to comfort Butler in a moment in which they both knew the run was over. Nonetheless, a great season for my team and a lot of good memories.

What’s your favorite memory? What’s your prediction for this year? I’m eager to see if my boys make another deep run!
