Happy Valentine’s Day from Compete’s President

It’s Valentine’s Day, and what better time to show our appreciation to clients, supporters and the people who we worked with over the past year. We move so quickly these days that we often forget to celebrate our accomplishments, especially those of our clients. So this is my Valentine, celebrating all of our relationships and some of the reasons these past twelve months have been so special.

We now have more than 1,000 clients who rely on Compete data and insights every day. We work with the largest media properties, brands and agencies, as well as smaller – but no less innovative – digital marketers. Each of you is important and your success helps shape our future. This valentine is especially for you, and I look forward to sharing that sentiment in person at our 2011 Digital CMO Summit, which has become a highlight for us every year.

Because of our clients, many of whom have worked with Compete for years, we’re continuing to experience record growth across the board, making us one of the fastest-growing companies in the WPP and Kantar family. We’ve doubled our number of clients, revenue and staff in just the past two years alone. Remarkably, we now serve nearly half of the Fortune 100. In fact, we’re growing so fast that we plan to move into a new location in Boston later this year where we can accommodate our growing team.  Finally, Compete’s blog, a continuing labor of love for us, just moved up the ranks to #11 on the Ad Age Power 150 and is now one of the must-read blogs in our industry.

While these accomplishments are nice, expanding our reach is even nicer. In 2010, we launched internationally with digital panels in the UK and France and a two-screen panel (TV and web) in China. In 2011, we’ll launch new products in media planning, ad effectiveness and mobile and introduce a new XL Tag along with a new methodology to directly measure site traffic and audience information. And that’s only the beginning. We will continue our mission to relentlessly understand consumers to inspire great marketing among our clients.

I want to personally thank each of our supporters, clients and everyone in the Compete family. You provide the inspiration and dedication that allows Compete to achieve the level of success we celebrate today. This Valentine is for you.
