Angry Birds Make Mobile Gamers Happy

Angry Birds hatched and Rovio.com site traffic took flight. Mobile gamers have gone wild over Angry Birds. Have you played it? I had my first Angry Birds experience on a road trip recently and got hooked.

The premise of the game is simple-The survival of the Angry Birds is at stake. You dish out revenge on the green pigs who stole the Birds’ eggs and try to destroy the pigs’ castles. The Angry Birds are cute in an angry sort of way and the game features hours of gameplay, challenging physics-based castle demolition, and lots of replay value. Each of the 120 levels requires logic, skill, and brute Angry Bird force to crush the enemy.

Angry Birds launched in December 2009 and within a couple of months, mobile gamers started flocking to Angry Birds on their mobile devices and hitting Rovio.com for updates, blogs, and Angry Birds merchandise (the plush Angry Birds are cute in an angry sort of way). Unique Visitors continue to grow on Rovio.com and it looks like the game’s popularity is not going away any time soon.

Angry Birds is giving Rovio a nice boost in traffic from search referrals. Mobile gamers can’t get enough of Angry Birds on their phones and hit the web looking for Angry Birds tips, tricks, and walk-throughs. The top 5 natural keyword referrals to Rovio.com are about Angry Birds despite the robust offering of other games Rovio produces.

Rovio Search Referrals, Angry Birds

Rovio released a special Halloween edition of Angry Birds, adding to the Angry Birds family. I wonder what else is in store for Angry Birds as the holiday season progresses. Maybe an Angry Turkeys game for Thanksgiving? We can only hope…
