Get the martini shaker ready for another round of Cosmos! The fabulous foursome from Sex And The City return for a second movie on Thursday, May 27th. It seems hard to believe that I’ve been following these ladies since 1998 as they endured brunches, boyfriends, breakups, babies, and, of course, Mr. Big.
Since Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte have been fashion icons for over a decade, I was curious to see how Sex And The City fever would impact the web, so I looked up the date that ticket sales for Sex And The City The Movie 2 were announced.
Carrie Bradshaw, freelance writer and fashionista, has always had a taste for luxury, lusting over brands like Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo. Christian Louboutin is a personal favorite of mine, so I took a peek at the impact on the ticket release date and the website traffic for christianlouboutin.com. The announcement for the ticket sale date (scheduled for May 10) occurred the week of April 20th. Daily Reach and Daily Attention soared after the announcements. The first spike can be seen after the announcement on April 23rd. Daily Reach and Daily Attention had an additional lift the week that tickets for Sex And The City The Movie 2 went on sale.
It wasn’t just Christian Louboutin who saw a lift. Daily Reach for the shoes and accessories in retail have seen an overall lift in Daily Reach corresponding to the May 10 release date for ticket sales for the movie.
Perhaps moviegoers are preparing some fabulous outfits for a girls’ night out! I definitely splurged on a new outfit when I saw an advanced screening of the Sex And The City movie two years ago in New York City, followed by night of cosmos and band aids on my feet (should have broken in the high heels sooner or taken a cab).
