Portrait of the Online Shopper
Did you know that 40% of online shoppers in the UK make an online purchase at least once a week? What’s more is that 69% of online shoppers indicate that they may research a particular product in a store before making the purchase online. These trends are found in the UK Online Shopper Intelligence report and provide an overview of the retail trends that have occurred in the UK during Q3 2011. We combined Kantar Media Compete behavioural data and our Online Shopper Intelligence survey of 1,500 respondents to provide a snapshot of UK online shoppers, their behaviours and motivations.
We looked at overarching industry trends to understand how online shoppers are navigating the world of e-commerce.
We also dived deeper into the following topics:
-online and offline interaction in the purchase process
-value of the heavy online shopper to both bricks and clicks
-a glimpse at the Christmas shopper
