Recently we took a look at some of the environmentally-conscious sites of the web. One that we didn’t mention was Zipcar.com. Zipcar makes strides towards a cleaner planet by supplying shareable cars, thus lowering the number of vehicles on the road emitting harmful gases into the atmosphere. I’m a zipcar member and I must say I love the service. I’m pulling for these guys and although they are not huge they are growing at a steady clip.

Zipcar has experienced a steady increase in site visitors over the past couple of years. Encouragingly, sessions per month (total site visits, not unique) have ramped up as well. This is a good sign for the company; increased sessions means people are adopting the service and returning to book Zipcars more frequently.

UPDATE: This morning I received a newsletter from Zipcar saying that they are terminating their relationship with XM Radio while “things get sorted out in the satellite radio industry”. Will this affect Zipcar’s success? My guess is no, but only time will tell. A year from now I’ll rehash the subject and I’d be willing to bet that the current positive trend will continue.

We recently launched a new company called Sunday that is very beneficial to Zipcar users. You can store your login details in the Sunday Portal and our team of agents can help you reserve a car real time. You can interact with them via email or phone. Use the promo code “zipcar” for a free month trial.
We do a whole bunch more stuff for our customers, too.
