Technorati wouldn't just be valuable to Google for the amount of their traffic, but the quality of the traffic too. If you advertise on Technorati, bloggers will see the ads and will build buzz around it. I have seen this happen and again. Techmeme has the same effect, an ad there will get linked by a lot of prominent blogs because the people who read the site like to share information. They can charge top dollar to premium ad buyers and it's worth it.

I love Technorati, but would love to see them get access to Google's servers, the site is sketchy as all get out when it comes to reliability. You can't forget Icerocket.com, Mark Cuban has been backing that one, but I'm not sure how much market share it has picked up.

Google blog search is better for one thing. When you want to find a post with a title that you want, it does beat Technorati, which near as I can tell, will not sort by title.

I use Google Blog Search but man its so not user-friendly. The design is hard on the eyes - there's just nothing fun about using it. The only reason I use it is sometimes Technorati slows to a crawl and it requires more clicks to get to the results page. But when I'm surfing for random stuff to kill the boredom, I go to Technorati, not Google.

One request... Google, can you please stop putting Beta on every second rate service you release. I would prefer it just say, "not ready yet, there is a competitive service available that is better."
