I looked around the ward and said to myself, "I aint staying here!" from that moment on i started to make nurses, carers and patients laugh. I painted, wrote poetry and forced myself back to nearly full fitness. I suffer bad arthritis but does not stop me. I have a wife Pauline (an angel) 10 children, 20 grandkids 12 great grandkids, a dog "Ben" and a litle budgie. How did i find time to write? Ever tried writing with a grand child on each knee and dog wanting attention? I write plays, poetry Stories. Very successful with some of my plays and done 2 tv programmes. My favourite play "ME MAM SEZ" (written in local dialect) broke box office records at the Nottingham Playhouse. I find inspiration walking Ben in my local wood..There i live in my dream world, talk to gnomes..who ever will listen..You, who are in pain, walk or ride in the park/wood...Listen to the silence - dream your dreams become master of your world, it is all yours and it costs nothing! The trees will love you for it...I know! wild flowers dance a welcome, stiff legged pines standing in emerald green socks..nod their approval. In my wellies i prance in a muddy pool while Ben cocks an ear in wonder. Sooth your mind with blessings from the wilderness and above all LAUGH! Bazzer... Most importantly, please tell how you overcame your challenge. Just speak from your heart.
