Fall Television Making Waves Online

The new fall television season was already making waves in Week 38 (Sept 17—23) with several TV-oriented websites showing significant increases in traffic. Leading the way in terms of growth with a 505% increase in unique visitors was culinary cutie Rachael Ray, whose new syndicated show debuted with strong ratings that week.

But the real winner for the week was NBC.com. Not only did the network’s primary site welcome an impressive 3.1 million people, but the website for fit vs. fat show The Biggest Loser made it into our Top Movers list with 261,000 visitors, an increase of 269%. In addition to that, the gaming site king.com also saw an impressive 215% increase in visitors. What’s the connection, you ask? King.com hosts an interactive play-at-home version of NBC’s hit primetime games show Deal or No Deal. Word about the online version has been spreading like a virus, which must make noted germophobe host Howie Mandel very nervous.
