Obviously, food is such a big part of our lives and we all wish we could have ma or grandma’s home cooking every night. We all strive to live healthy, but in this on-the-go society that is America, we forget how to eat right and the consequence is being lazy with our food choices and packing on the weight. Trust me, I love the double QT pounder w/cheese and if you could still get it super-sized, I would.
Yet in the past year or so, consumers have really been turned on to the organic food trend and we think it has something to do with the accessibility of the product. Grocery stores like Whole Foods have dedicated themselves to all natural, healthy products that are reasonably priced. Wholefoods.com averages 50,000 visitors a week to their website and as their franchise grows around the world, we bet that traffic to the site will as well. Once on wholefoods.com, you can blog about products, read about food health and just about everything else. The only thing you can’t do is shop. Maybe soon we’ll see them incorporate a delivery service like peapod.com, where 75,000 people a week go to shop and have their food delivered. The organic consumer is an extremely valuable commodity to grocery retailers and all of the major grocery store chains are starting to cater to this lifestyle. Even the stalwart retailer Walmart is rushing to stock more organic foods and organic friendly products on their shelves.
If your excuse for not eating healthy is that you don’t have enough time to cook and shop, we recommend a visit to supersuppers.com. Supersuppers is a new service that allows the consumer to place an order for a fully cooked, healthy meal that can either be delivered or picked up at a later time. These aren’t your Friday night TV dinners, these are gourmet, fresh meals cooked and then immediately frozen to be used at a later time. But if you do have the time, you can stop into one of their stores and actually prepare the food yourself. You can actually plan a cooking party and have all your friends at the store and make meals together. Sounds fun. We’ll bring the wine and beer sit on the sideline and sample off everyone’s plate. 11,000 people visited supersuppers.com in a recent week and we think you should as well.

Wow, where to begin. Great article. Organic food is definitely the “in thing.” About time too, my family raised me vegetarian and whole food. While “Organic Food” is now coming of age. A few of us remember when food was just organic naturally.
Grandma did not use chemicals and her seeds were from years of past crops. The fertilizer was the chicken manure and organic waste. The food was good, it always tasted like what it claimed to be. The corn was corn, the tomatoes, were tomatoes. Today, I can tell the difference between an organic vegetable and one grown with unnatural enhancements, or what I like to call genetic experimentation. An example, try cooking an organic potato in the same batch as a non-organic potato of the same variety. Surprise, they will not cook the same, even when backing together. Hmm..? Now taste, hmm…? An interesting experiment.
In your article you said: “…The organic consumer is an extremely valuable commodity to grocery retailers…” I have to agree. But, it does not stop there. Organics are now the world hottest market for farmers and others in the industry. Take the company I work for, SexySprouts our company is based on organic greens alone. Starting with Organic Sunflower Sprouts, our company is targeting the market for fresh local organic food. Imagine, a whole business dependent upon organic products. We are not alone, today there are a growing number of organics only businesses. There will be more every year now as we search for quality food, and better health. Check us out, we are coming to a store near you as we expand across America and spread to Europe.
NOTICE, we are looking for organic farmers every where. So, if you currently farm organics or want to. Especially if your in or near a metropolitan area, were want you to become a partner organic micro-farmer. Contact us via our website: http://www.SexySprouts.com
