The Million Dollar Homepage

It is a reoccurring theme on the internet — simple ideas make a lot of money.

Alex Tew, a 22 year old UK resident, decided that he was going to sell 1,000,000 advertisement pixels for $1 each on his site, “The million Dollar Homepage“. Easily one of the densest site we have ever come across, the website is jam packed with ads for everything, from screensavers to online dating to even web hosting.

Although Alex had to fight off some malicious attacks from an unknown group of hackers, as of mid January, 2006, he had earned a little over $1,000,000!!!! It is worth taking a look at the site (800,000 people did per day in January) to see how a really simple idea can go a long way. Also, Where’s Waldo????
